Sunday 13/05/07 - Shinjuku Chuo-Koen

My first solo destination after dumping my travel bags is the parks and skyscraper district west of Shinjuku station. Here I find towers of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Offices and the stark contrast of Japans large homeless population living in the beautiful park opposite. Unlike some of the aggressive tramps encountered in London these displaced people remarkably still have all the manners of their well to do counterparts in the city and take their shoes of outside their makeshift dwellings.
