Monday 28/05/07 - Narita International Airport

Unfortunately the time came for me to say sayonara to Japan... (for now!)

I had a brief drama with the taxi driver dropping me off 500+meters away from train station entrance, but despite missing my scheduled train by mere moments I still managed to make it to the Airport in good time for my flight... (curse my rudimentary knowledge of the Japanese language... I meant Shinjuku train station not bus/coach station!)

I then managed to spend all my remaining Yen on loads of sweets and rice cakes etc for everyone back home. mmmm oishii! (adding yet more hand luggage for me to later drag across london!)

12+ hours later, after watching almost five films back to back, I land safe and sound back in London.

My first 30 minutes in the UK went exactly as expected... I was greeted by grey skies, wet weather, a crap transport system and some aggressive bullsh*t beggars!

Awesome! (I'm already wishing I'd never left Japan!)

Sunday 27/05/07 - The Riverside, Shin Nakano

After a late night filled with the live music and culinary delights of Koenji we make our way back to the Riverside "Shokudo" Bar on Nakano Dori.

The days mis-adventures are clearly visible in my sleepy eyes as I spend my final night (and a substantial part of the next morning!) in the "Riverside" with my host Micheal, friend Kiwako and generous bar owner Joe Nakajima.

I have a strong suspicion that one my business cards may have joined the decorative display somewhere on the walls of the bar...Drop me mail if you find it amongst the fine collection of foreign beer and whisky labels!

Kanpai!
